On 20 October 2020, 19:06:13 UTC, PrimeGrid's Fermat Divisor Search found the Mega Prime:
The prime is 2,012,370 digits long and enters Chris Caldwell's â€œThe Largest Known Primes Databaseâ€ ranked 97th overall.
The discovery was made by Mike ThÃ¼mmler (fnord) of Germany using an AMD Ryzen 5 1600X Six-Core Processor with 16GB RAM, running Microsoft Windows 10 Professional x64 Edition. This computer took about 4 hours to complete the primality test using LLR. Mike ThÃ¼mmler is a member of the SETI.Germany team.
