Which GPU works have the lowest Bus Interface Load?

My 1080 Ti has a Bus Interface Load of about 58% at Genefer 19 on my main PC with PCI-E 3.0 8x.

I ask because I have a mining rig with many PCI Express 3.0 1x.
Even though I only used 1070 in my mining rig, the Bus Load will be the bottleneck.
In other projects ( I won't name names ;) ) the Bus Interface Load is only 12% on my main PC, which will be ok for PCI-E 3.0 1x. But I want to use my mining rig for PrimeGrid.

Higher GFNs will use less interface bandwidth. According to Yves Gallot:
If n is GFN-n (n = 15, 16, ..., 22), we should have PCIe bandwidth [usage] = K / 2^n (if bus is not saturated).
So you could try running GFN22 or even DYFL and see how it goes.

Your best bet is probably to just give the different subprojects a try and see how each of them run. It doesn't hurt to abort tasks if you see that they are heavily bottlenecked.

Out of curiosity, how do you check what your Bus Interface Load is?


In Windows I can use GPU-Z, but for Linux I have no idea how to check it. So I can only estimate or (as suggested) guess what the load is.

GPU-Z in Windows has the Sensors tab:



But as you can see, the load for GNF21 is already at 52% (PCIe 3.0 8x)

Could you measure any GPU, for only the speed it could be?


What do you mean by "speed"? Do you mean frequency? If so, yes. Each vendor has its own software, but generally MSI Afterburner and/or GPU-Z should work on all of them, and they're quite accurate.
