Computation errors on GPU PPS Sieve tasks
(Message 72361)

Thanks for the quick reply.
I changed some permissions in the /programdata/boinc directory with inheritance of rights.
Also started Boinc as admin again, but the tasks still keep crashing.
Can I see the errors in local log files on my own pc?

Computation errors on GPU PPS Sieve tasks
(Message 72358)

Having started this project again after a period of inactivity I get nothing but computation errors for primegrid.
I had a lot of 1 second errors, but now the GPU PPS Sieve 1.39 process until ready and then also give a computation error.
executable is probably primegrid_tpsieve_1.39_windows_intelx86__cudaPPSsieve.exe.
I run GTX 580 gpu with firmware 326.8.
I haven't overclocked and also tried running Boinc as admin, but to no avail.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Tom

I have a number of them paused while they have a report before date of today. On the other hand the system is processing pps llr with a report before date of tomorrow.
That seems not right. Possibly I lose a number of semi processed units here which would be a waste of processing time.

Here's a nice table where you can see some more details of the 560 compared to the rest of the GTX's

Thanks for the tip, I did not know that the 560 existed. Seems like a good best of the rest choice beating my current GTX275 nicely.
Depends a bit on availability and price I guess

Thanks for the table.
AT the moment I am running a single host with a GTX275 which is also my normal leasure pc.
If I were to upgrade the graphics part I initially think of the GTX570 as a wise choice.
For a bit less money though I could also get a dual GTX460. I have no experience with a dual card system but that only makes it more interesting.
What would be the best choice? My main requirement since the pc is in the living room is that it is QUIET. A noisy pc I tend to shutdown a lot more, I get enough noise at work.
It all needs to be serviced by a cooler master silent 600 watt power supply.
The rest of the system is a standard i7 860 with two internal disks.
Thanks..

Hi,
I see in my account overview that I have found 2 Sophie Germain primes.
When I click on it I only see one.
Where's the missing prime? Or is this a setting thing?
Thanks
Tom

Why do I not get new workunits anymore?

Primegrid is configured to take 44% of my resources yet no wu's are downloaded saying no reporting or requesting tasks.
I've been away for a week with no computer and since I had no chance of completing some wu's before the due date I cancelled a few of them. Shouldn't I have done that?
Eventhough only recently on the project it already found a Sophie Germain prime somewhere at 2300 in the top 5000 which is nice.
Thanks
Tom
