6c\6t on my netbox (+3 gpus).
8c\8t on my old gaming rig (+3 gpus).

I'm not that into cpu computing.

If you haven't been paying attention to the challenge standings, maybe you should.

All of a sudden there's a huge battle for first place in the team standings in the last day of the challenge. The Czech National Team came out of nowhere and made up a 20+ million point deficit to not only pass Aggie the Pew but is within spitting distance of the first place Sicituradastra. One hour to go...

Glad I wasn't watching, actually -- that was a real nail-biter. Sicituradastra, thankfully, managed to hold on.

Yeah, i just checked the stats and it was really close. Unbelievable.
This was a tight run, but thankfully PG server was stable like it usually is.
Big thanks to PG staff.

I'm running two gtx 1060 3gb cards, one is running pcie speed x16 and the other is running pcie speed x4. It is due to mobos limitations. In pps sieve there is 0 difference. In ap27 there is slight difference. So no worries. In collatz and moo there is no difference. So unless something brutal is being run, there are no worries, i think.

Mike
Thank You

it works

44 :07 mins/sec per Task

Im so glad that you have supported me,

Thanks

good Luck

If that runtime is for the gtx1080ti, then that is bad, i think. My gtx1060 3gb ap27 wu runtime is about 42minuts (2500sec). I run 1 wu per gpu. I have some old driver installed: 378.66.
I only update when there is some need, so maybe the driver is 1,5 years old now by now, and maybe its not the fastest for ap27.

The rx580, that is in the same pc, sadly, is not doing very well: ~6000sec per wu.
Cheers.

Microsoft may have given you a nice New Year's Day surprise. Check if BOINC is suspended while Windows is prompting you for a reboot.

EDIT The suspension is all mine.

"Your PC will restart several times." That's Microsoft's contribution.

I don't believe that's microsoft's contribution, i have no surprises and my 3 old computers are running on windows 7 all the time.

Grrr...
What in the name of all that is holy are the top guys using as computers? How much money do they have to invest? I'm so envious, I'm also very happy that I'm not sitting at the bottom of the list.

They are using cubic dollars... as computers?
I was running on 5 gpus, and was placed 100-th.
TNG had 18 times more powuh on hand.
I was using 20000 gflops peak by boinc, whatever that means.

Thanx people, got my answer.
9) Message boards : General discussion : What cpu subprojects run better on older cpus? (Message 102588)

So i was looking for some guide in the message boards, but i did not find any.
So i read some time ago somewhere that amd cpus are better at sieving and pretty much rubbish at everything else. So i set my old amd phenomII hexa to sieve and it was much faster at getting work done.

Now i'd like to use my old i3 2,2ghz laptop more efficiently. Have been running random subprojects on it: http://www.primegrid.com/results.php?hostid=490771 it's really slow.
What cpu subproject would run more efficiently on it? I am running 2wu-s at once (that's 50% cpu usage in boinc manager) cause it's a 2core 4thread cpu, and i think 1wu per 1core is the way to go?

If there is a thread about it somewhere, please feel free to point me that way.
If there is no thread about it, i'd appreciate it if somebody smart would create one, and not too complex or people like me wont get it.
Thanks in advance.

Thanx for the feedback people, i now know things that i did not know before.

Mikey, how do i run two wu-s on a gpu? And how do i dedicate a core?
I'm not that good with software.
