greetings … and welcome again … whilst … rehinking the whole … CPU?GPU proces …. maybe … You … Dear Primegrid and BOINC Developers/Administrators .. should implement … an " Option " … which is aplied … in MilkyWay@Home and in GpuGrid … maximum CPU for Graphics

Sincerely … Grzegorz Roman Granowski ( Czech National Team )

Could you check what the real GPU activity is ?
On your computer list, I see only Windows, so you should open Task Manager and look at the GPU column. If your GPU is used at 100%, then there is no need to look further.

Note : BOINC states that a GFN tasks uses 1 GPU and 0.1 (or something similar) CPU. This is plainly wrong and you must only trust what your operating system (Linux top+psensor or Windows Task manager) tells you.

Dear … Mr. Volunteer Tester … thank You for the information … I've … send to Eingeener of Informatics … Dear Mr. Grzegorz Sztajer … a request … not to modified Config … I hope … that … Dear Administrators …. of Primegrid … will colaborate with BOINC Aplication Developers … and hopefully … 2 threads ora 1 core power … will be available … to home BOINC Users …

Right now … in whole Poland … there are sound's done by … Army .. Police … and FireArms … it is a sign … that 75 years ago … on 17.00 ZULU time … have started a Warsawa Uprising … which lasted for 63 days … and was a try ( lost try ) to set Warsaw free … from NAZI occupation …

In BOINC it is possible to specify how many CPU cores does a GPU task take using app_config.xml. This is something the user does himself.

See here, the option is called cpu_usage

Greetings … and welcome . I'm not an Advanced Computer Developer … and II would not like to give Mr. Grzegorz Sztajer … this ask/task/favor … and I don't think … that Config moducations … is a the best way to set CPU usage for GPU power …

this option shpuld be " an easy to set " … even for BOINC users … Fanatics … as it is stated on Boinc@Poland forum … those who are not Computer Specialists … Advanced Informaticians …

I'm convinced … that in Primegrid Preferences … should be a clear way to do thi setting … form example by giving a chice … how much CPU power should be set …

sincerely … Grzegorz Roman Granowski ( Czech National Team )

I'm afraid it doesn't work that way, and what you ask is impossible.

For GPU tasks, you can not set how much CPU is used. The program simply uses what it needs. You can't change that.

The app_config settings only tell BOINC what you expect the program to use -- they don't change the actual usage.

Dear Mr Goetz … Project Scientist … in polish there is a saying … " there are no things … that are impossible " … and there a saying … in latin … " acta non verba " which means … " czyny, nie słowa " in polish … and " acts, not words "
in English … please … The Topic is set … and the discussion is being followed … only to speed up the counting proces by GPU … I'm running 12 x 2080 ti turbo and 2 x 1080 … the " Couting " would have been much faster … if … not about 0.2 of CPU core or thread is being used … but 1 core or 2 threads … please … as a Matematician far more advanced in Primegrid Developing Process … could You please … make a simulation … how much faster GPU would have been counting … if my ask/favor wolud have been set …

sincerely … Grzegorz Roman Granowski ( Czech National Team )

I don't understand what you need that is not available today. I might be wrong, as I don't run DYFL, but looking at smaller GFNs I believe that geneferocl will use as much CPU power as needed to get the GPU active. And its runs with a higher priority than llr tasks, so it is not slowed down by CPU only projects.

Dear Volunteer Tester … i'm running 12 x 2080 ti turbo … and 2 x 1080 … for
" Do you feel lucky " … isi it possible to develope an aplication … which would allow users to manually set power of CPU to one GPU ???

for example .. and what is mostly needed … 1 CPU thread … or two CPU thread … whilst running hyperthreading … to one power of GPU … ???

sinecrely … Grzegorz Roman Granowski ( Czech National Team )

Your question isn't translating into English very well. It's not clear what you're asking for.

Dear Mr Goetz … one core of CPU to one GPU … ora two threads ( hyperthread )
to one GPU … please … is it possible to develop that option in Primegrid Settings ???? sincerely and truly … Grzegorz Roman Granowski ( Czech National Team )

Dear Mr Slakevicious … Dear Mr Goetz … Dear Mr Vogel … Dear Mr Blazek …

let me introduce to You Our Homepage … https://savetheworld.org.pl/

Our Homepage is going to be be succesfully expanding ... and new Projects will be introduced ... the English translation is going to be ... executed soon ...
