Not very hard to do with the high credits given out at first..
if seti had 4500 credit GPU Wu's completing in 8 min on high end cards.. they would blow the doors off this project.
but the point is moot, comparing different projects total points is apples to oranges.

So, two things.
the 270 drivers def are doing something funny. when I kept my CPU's idle the GPU's worked as hard as usual at the normal OC. with the CPU's going full bore my WU times started creeping up.
Rolled back to 266 and I rolled full gpu/cpu all night at my old usual times.. Ill stick with 266 for now ..

I have a 460 that did the same thing. However I'd overclocked it to the limit. I backed off on the overclock and freed up 1 cpu core to handle the gpu requests and the time stabilized.

Hey Rick, can I ask what you did to free up a core?
Sure I can set it to use less of my cores but doesnt it just let that core sit idle. I like your idea of keeping 1 core free to feed the gpu's

Yup im overclocked, nothing fancy just 810 right now, just a wee overclock =)
Ill give your stuff a try when I get home and also see if the CPU's being free changed anything.
Silly new drivers and protection I dont want... I have no problems rolling 85% fans all the time =)

So I took a few week break from crunching.
I fire back up yesterday and im running an AMD 1090T six core. and dual GTX 570's.
Im pumping out primgrid WU's in 10-11 min or so and also running 6 WCG tasks on the cpu's. Well overnight by morning my Primegrid WU's were taking 20 min to complete and their fans were running my slower and i noticed their temps were down.
Rebooted the machine and boom back upto normal 10-11 min times and temps to normal levels.
I shut my cpu tasks down for the day and ill see if that affects it. Just wondering if maybe the new Nvidia Drivers could be causing this.

270.61 released a week ago 2011.04.18
the machine is running Win 7 64 bit.
Just figured id throw it out incase other people had seen the same thing.
