We'll probably increase the workunit size and the credit proportionally (meaning 3x workunit size -> 3x credit per workunit). Not set in stone, though.
That means with a decent GPU like a 1660 I will get more than 1 000 000 credits a day? Is it really good to have few subprojects where it's a breeze to get to jade while generally it's a tough accomplishment? There's already this large gap between GPU and CPU subprojects, but this would be somewhat extreme.
As I understand it, since WU size and credits per WU increase proportionally to each other, PPD stays the same.

Slow speed on RX 5700XT
(Message 146488)
Posted 911 days ago by SkyFall
The only "performance issues" I face are quite different runtimes.
Usually, they're within 10-15% fluctuation, but today I had a one WU that was completed in half the time all others have:
https://www.primegrid.com/result.php?resultid=1157051651
https://www.primegrid.com/result.php?resultid=1157009113
Both WUs done on the same computer with the same 12 threads running SGS.
The only difference I could spot so far is WWocl version 1.00/1.0.2 vs 1.02/1.0.3 - does this explain the vastly shorter runtime?

FFT size
(Message 145797)
Posted 922 days ago by SkyFall
There’s no FFTs or other types of transforms used in this app. It’s more like AP27 in that it works on very small numbers. There’s no need for fancy mathematical tricks to speed up multiplication since the numbers being worked on fit within a 64 bit integer. The CPU’s native hardware can directly operate on these numbers.
The CPU app uses both multithreading and hyperthreading well, so I recommend setting “number of threads†in the preferences to “no limitâ€, use “100% of the CPUsâ€, and let it run on all available threads. These tasks are sized for GPUs, so running it on all threads helps keep the run times down. My 3700X took less than 4 hours to run on 16 threads.
Overall memory usage is under 10 MB.
Thanks for the clarification Michael!

FFT size

Hey all
I'm now running the first WUs from this new subproject. :-)
Is there any data on which FFT sizes are used on CPU tasks?
