Been a while since posting. Took a short sabbatical crunching some other stuff. :-) I see y'all have been putting some significant effort into efforts on Stream's server which is cool. :-) Been going through some pretty hot weather around here which has definitely impacted my crunching capacity.

So any of you have any of the new nvidia cards yet?

Still way too early to get the new nVidias, not till October or so.

But I plan on a pair of 3090s (assuming the naming is correct, which is dubious), to replace my old pair of 1080s.

Posted this elsewhere but it probably belongs here too.

Last GFN17 Mega on 24th May, due soon :)

Good opportunity for "when the cats away" strategy Spear? Skip the challenge and fingers crossed?

I had switched back to GFN17 low, but I've moved to Mega now.

Well, scratch this then.

I remember why I don't run PPS Sieve. The executable seg faults on start in Linux, and causes some other issue in Windows where it doesn't release file locks properly, so BOINC can't be run twice without a reboot.

I'll go for this.

My recent few months attempt at a mega prime haven't so much as produced a double check, so a change is welcome.

Reckon I'll have to go for a pair of those 3080 Ti's. The leaked stats suggest a monster. Which will no doubt prove to be an expensive monster.

Very nice, probably about €1000 each though. hmmmm Worth it! :D

When I went up to two 1080s from two 980s, the power reduction actually saved me money in the long term. Of course it's too early to tell about the 3080s. But any card I buy gets run 24x7 so I get my moneys worth.

Three primes, not a bad weekend at all.

In my case I've been busy. Getting my Amiga setup going, combined with starting a new job, doesn't leave much time for other things.

Awesome! Enjoy it! I am still running a 68020 in my Macintosh II from 1988, although it is clocked at 16MHz. 8MB RAM and a 320MB hard drive.

The fun thing about these old machines is that despite the low hardware stats the software they use is frequently more responsive and faster for simple tasks than on modern PCs because the software engineering was so focused on efficiency and resource utilization. I run Office 95 on it and it is blazing fast for everything except Excel :)

Have fun with it!

It's just a base unit, albeit refurbished and re-capped. I'll need to buy a bunch of bits and add-ons over the coming months to make it usable. Most principally a video output scaler to make to make it's old-school SCART output usable on a modern display. In the longer term I'll look to add an accelerator such as the Apollo core one. That'll give it an FPGA based equivalent of a 68080, along with other goodies.

Wow, I didn't think i7's were out that long. Time flies!

My replacement for it is in the mail, hopefully arriving late next week.

It's an Amiga 1200. That's a single 68020 processor at 14MHz.
