in case anyone is on right now -- about how long of exposures should I go for? I've got a half decent tripod and trying to get my IR remote shutter control working...

well, it finally cleared up here last night and I got a decent glimpse. by the time my brain kicked in, it was too late -- I do have a decent (Nikon D700) digital camera and a 55-200 lens that would get a little closer. any quick tips for how to snap the best pics in the dark? I'll see if I have a view tonight and if so will do my best to snap a few pictures...

so I've been in low gear most of the summer, but just started firing things back up recently, focusing on the new badge and PPS-DIV. It's been a while since I've seen any of those 'you found a prime' emails -- but just got one today!!

45*2^7661004+1 is a Factor of xGF(7661003,11,5)!!!!

I'm stoked that it's 2M+ digits but I have to say I really don't understand what the factor or an xGF really means -- but it comes with four, count 'em -- four exclamation points, so I'm guessing this is a good thing :)

Sorry I've been quiet for so long, I went out for a beer and I guess I lost track of time. Anyhow, I've been getting work done slowly and finally got a full set of blue badges! things are cooling down around here, so about to get some more machines online, and I'll be in for the next challenge. (and I'll be reading a lot of missed threads too)

I just fired up one more system (GTX1660Ti) - found it under a pile of my wife's stuff -- She must have thought it was just a heater and unplugged it at some point, and I have not been to that corner of the house for a while...

Welcome to the party Tim.
Better late than never, right ?

I hope so!

-- and man, these pps sieve tasks really dont like to run alongside CPU tasks -- just aborted a few 50% done WOO tasks, but now PPS is double speed or so...
