Morgan le Fay

Morgan le Fay was an enchantress in Arthurian legend whose name first appeared in literature around 1150. A skilled healer and shape-shifter, she ruled Avalon, the island where King Arthur went to be healed after being mortally wounded in battle. Her magic was learned from books and the magician Merlin. In some accounts, she is Arthur's sister and enemy and seduces him to produce a son—Mordred—who later kills Arthur.

Lenin Poisoned?

In the years leading up to his death in 1924, Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin suffered a series of debilitating strokes. It has been suggested that a syphilis infection caused these strokes, but a doctor and a historian who examined Lenin's medical records and other evidence now believe that stress, familial predisposition to hardening of the arteries, and possibly even poison are the more likely culprits. Lenin's brain and body were preserved following his death, and tests could reveal whether he was indeed poisoned.

Though he was largely exonerated, the trial sullied his reputation. Despite having distinguished himself in various American military campaigns—he was wounded more than once—Arnold was subsequently passed over for promotion. Embittered, he hatched what plot to aid the British in the American Revolution

The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie - deliberate, continued, and dishonest - but the myth - persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic. - John F. Kennedy

Chateaubrian is acute of beef from the center of the tenderloin, about 6 to 8 inches in length, that is usually cooked whole and then sliced into servings. The chateaubriand is the most tender part of the tenderloin. The meat is either broiled or grilled and is often served with a Bearnaise sauce. This dish was named for Francois Rene, Vicomte de Chateaubriand (1768-1848), French writer and statesman.
