I set this to run as CPU and all 4 tasks had a computation error after running for 1 day 16 hours needless to say I have turned the cpu tick off and will not run it again |

This much better suited as a GPU project. Are your tasks successful when GPU is ticked? Is your machine overheating? Even if slow CPU tasks they should be successful - check the usual signs for potential malfunction. |

Thanks for your reply
I did try the GPU but they failed immediately so I probably have a slow GPU as the only project I can run is Proth Prime search which takes about 15 minutes to run
I checked the heat settings and it did not go above 31
my GPU is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

I had a new 1660 that failed all GFN tasks, only AP27 worked. It wasn't overheating, I even underclocked it and limited the power, nothing helped. So I returned the card, bought another one and now everything's fine. Apparently GFN (and maybe WW?) is so sensitive towards errors that small failures that don't show otherwise make the task fail.
Does AP27 work? If so, it really seems something is wrong hardware-wise on your computer.

No no my friend, a 1050ti is anything but slow. Sure there are faster, but it's plenty enough to make do. If it's instantly failing and you can run PPS Sv, I would bet you have a problem with your drivers not installing OpenCl, for whatever reason, so I recommend downloading the latest version (it's safe, I'm using it as well), then using DDU to get rid of the old drivers and installing anew. After that, close and reopen BOINC and it should work perfectly, at least on the GPU side of things. |

Your Nvidia driver is 39907, you need to update to a newer verson, several projects have cut off the use of drivers prior to 410xx so go at least that far. You do NOT need the latest and greatst driver, in fact sometimes they give problems for us crunchers but they do work very well for gamers. |

The driver for my 1060 3GB is 39087. It's running WW fine.
I do need to upgrade my driver, but for me that means a new version of Linux, so I haven't done that yet. |
