Is it possible to multi thread AP27 CPU tasks?

Just as the title says, can you multi thread AP27 CPU tasks like you can with LLR or is is just a 1 core per task type thing. | |

Current software. Was just curious. Will be bench marking the 3 different CPUs I will be running it on for the challenge.

I'm personally not going to bother with CPUs. It's the proverbial bringing of a knife to a gunfight.
This is a GPU app.

Of course. I have 3 GPus which will be crunching away. For that extra jump in points for the challenge, since it is 3 days, see if the CPUs can finish at least 1 workunit in that time. I have 14 CPUs I can contribute to that. | |

Yes, GPUs work on AP27.
No special settings are needed as long as you have the drivers installed correctly.

If that runtime is for the gtx1080ti, then that is bad, i think. My gtx1060 3gb ap27 wu runtime is about 42minuts (2500sec). I run 1 wu per gpu. I have some old driver installed: 378.66.
I only update when there is some need, so maybe the driver is 1,5 years old now by now, and maybe its not the fastest for ap27.
The rx580, that is in the same pc, sadly, is not doing very well: ~6000sec per wu.

Do leave a cpu core free just to keep the gpu running at top speed? If not try it and see what happens to the next few workunits. Go into the Boinc Manager and click on Options, then computing preferences, then under the computing tab, the first one, change the top line to 99 and click at the bottom of the page to save your settings.
I do this for all of my pc with gpu's that crunch and it seems to be faster. Since a gpu can do far more work than a cpu can the trade-off is positive. | |
