The Final Challenge of the 2017 Challenge series is upon us. The Winter Solstice Challenge will be a 3 day (72 hour) celebration on account of the winter solstice. The challenge is being offered on PrimeGrid's most successful sieve, the Proth Prime Search (Sieve) application. Come join us and warm yourself by the Solstice fires!

To participate in the Challenge, please select only the PPS (Sieve) project in your PrimeGrid preferences section. The challenge will begin 18 December 2017 16:28 UTC and end 21 December 2017 16:28 UTC.

Work unit must be downloaded on 18 Dec at 16:28 UTC time and finished by 21 Dec at UTC time.

CPU time is about 21 hours and less and GPU times at about 22 Seconds.

ALL THE HEAVY GUNS COME OUT FOR THE FINALLY PRIMEGRID CHALLENGE OF THE YEAR. IT IS STILL FUN TO BASK AGAINST THE POWER OF A FEW, WHO HAVE MANY, MANY COMPUTERS TO USE AND HAS A GOOD TURN OUT OF THEIR MEMBERS TO USE. HOWEVER THE US NAVY PRIME GRID TEAM WITH A FEW MEMBERS STILL COME IN ALWAYS IN THE GOVERNMENT STANDING... BUT WE SURE CAN MAKE A STATEMENT.

Six (6) hours to go and our team is in the Seventh place out of 174 teams that took part in this Challenge.

Thirteen (13) members of the team and (one) volunteer from another Primegrid team took part in this Challenge. There was a total of 974 PrimeGrid members that took part in this the last challenge of 2017.

Team Sicituradastra took top honors.
