From Dirk's posting in the team recruitment thread elsewhere on PG ...
Well, I think I'll apply. Originally, I went with "BOINC.BE" (the "official" Belgium Team). But since I'm not really so Belgium-minded, I switched to "Vlaanderen" (Vlaanderen [or Flanders] being the northern part of Belgium, so far). But team "Vlaanderen" turned out to be a one cruncher team on PrimeGrid, so I switched to the "Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science" team because I strongly believe in the principles of this team. But again, as far as challenges go, it's a one cruncher team. No fun at all.
So this time, I'm not going to let political or religious convictions cloud my judgment and I'll go for the warm nest of an active and outstanding crunching team. I only hope I won't be the 7920th to apply.
Just for you - we have bumped up the limit to 7921 .. you're in!!!
Tailwags-O-Welcome !!!!

Welcome aboard Dirk!
Glad you were no longer swayed by mundane thoughts and opinions on a team because if you were we will quickly un-mundane you :)
Lots of very smart folks here and a few who think they are comedians (Tim). We always have a great time and lots of laughs.
Cheers Rick |

Welcome Dirk! We have active and happy discussion here. A fair portion of it isn't *too* silly. Post random comments to the "squeak squeak" thread, or a photo on "photo of the day". Or start your own message threads, whenever.
Best of luck in the hunt for primes.

Yes welcome again Dirk. Play it the way you feel it. There is always serious stuff going on and if you have a technical question we can get it answered for you. As you may have seen we quite like to win. We also like to have fun and also just chatter; don't hesitate to join in. |

I also extend my welcomes. |

I'm overwhelmed by this avalanche of messages that make me truly welcome.
I can't wait to be checking out the Aggie The Pew forum. In my previous teams, the team forum was non-existent.
In the meantime, let's crunch and find some primes! |

One rule of thumb is to not take anything posted here too seriously. Unless Rick posts it, in which case it must be treated as Divine Providence. :-)
Another is that there are some *really* bright people here who can help with problems.
Lastly I'd encourage you in your spare time to check out some of the older threads. In particular we have a few members who are excellent photographers and have posted some wonderful shots.

On the other hand, I'm rubbish at photography, so if you are too then hopefully we can start our own thread full of nothing. |

I mean, Bart there is right about not having a cow, although he has just urinated himself.
Separately from that, two things I happen to like about Belgium:
- Belgium has the best Formula One circuit, Spa.
- Belgium produces many Trappist ales, which are one of the best kinds of adult beverage. |
