First of all, if you're asking for help, please, please, please! unhide your computers first! It makes it much harder for anyone else to help.
You didn't indicate which tasks you wanted to run on your GPU. If it's PPS Sieve tasks, I can definitely say that other 7790 GPUs are working, so it's something on your side such as the lack of correct drivers.
If it's GFN, I don't see the 7790 on the top GPU list, but there's no particular reason the 7790 wouldn't work while other similar GPUs would (that list doesn't show every GPU.)

Unhide done.
BTW I thought was sufficient the host ID 179509 or the host link

I run successful also a 5770 on another PC, with almost the same catalyst release.
The problem seems that 7790 do not support CAL ? (I can't believe it)

Any idea ?
Can I re-hide the PCs ? | |

Not from me. I don't have much experience with ATI cards. I was kind of hoping someone else would chime in.

You already did!
I think when I looked the other day the driver version did not show up under the gpu model description in the view we can see. Here is an example of one of mine:
CAL AMD Radeon HD 7870/7950/7970 series (Tahiti) (3072MB) driver: 1.4.1848
I think yours was more like this:
CAL AMD Radeon HD 7870/7950/7970 series (Tahiti) (3072MB)
Notice the driver version is missing, that could mean either that it is not being picked up or that Boinc doesn't see it. Go into the Boinc Manager and look under Advanced and then Event Log and go to the very top and see if Boinc is actually seeing your gpu. If not then you have a possible answer as to why it is isn't working here. The reason I am hesitant is that I think I remember you are using Darwin, and I have no clue on how to make Boinc work under that except for what I have already laid out. With your pc's being hidden again I can't be sure though.

Ok, now think that the problem is like this:
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=8647
so I've upgraded the catalyst (for win7 64-bit) from 13.9 to 13.12 without solve the problem:
previous BOINC log:
27/01/2014 18:54:21 | | OpenCL: ATI GPU 0: Bonaire (driver version 1268.1 (VM), device version OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1268.1), 1024MB, 1024MB available)
new:
09/02/2014 22:18:10 | | OpenCL: ATI GPU 0: Bonaire (driver version 1348.5 (VM), device version OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1348.5), 1024MB, 1024MB available)
In fact can run the projects with OpenCL clients but the others show this log
09/02/2014 22:18:10 | | App version needs CAL but GPU doesn't support it
at BOINC startup. | |

Try rolling back to catalyst 13.4 and see if that works.

Ouch. I was really hoping to avoid messing with the drivers. Over the weekend it is, then. Sigh.

i've the same problem, latest certified version of boinc, test with amd drivers 13.12, 13.4 and beta 14.2 : the same problem... APP SDK installed too.

The problem is that your client isn't even asking for more work. Do you have any suspended tasks? That's the most common cause of a host not requesting any work.

Any suggestions ?
What KIND of tasks are you asking for? Maybe you have ones selected that aren't compatible, I am grasping at straws. When I see my Event Log with a 7970 it says this:
4/3/2014 7:21:20 AM | PrimeGrid | Requesting new tasks for ATI
4/3/2014 7:21:21 AM | PrimeGrid | Scheduler request completed: got 1 new tasks
I am running the PPS Sieve tasks in about 30 minutes each. This means that PG does have units available. My 5870's are getting the same units too.
|
|
I want ATI tasks but PG doesn't give me some WU automatically , i need to force it with app info :

I want ATI tasks but PG doesn't give me some WU automatically , i need to force it with app info :
It seems to be working as you have both valid and in progress units for your Bonaire...CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I too am able to get tasks using app_info. However, I am going back to normal crunching now. Until server side changes are made to recognize whatever valid configuration I have with respect to this GPU, it won't be doing any BOINC crunching.

My 7790 with Catalyst 13.4 on Windows 7 64bit
2014-05-11 오후 1:53:59 | | CAL: ATI GPU 0: AMD Radeon HD 7790/R7 260X (Bonaire) (CAL version 1.4.1741, 1024MB, 966MB available, 2408 GFLOPS peak)
2014-05-11 오후 1:53:59 | | OpenCL: AMD/ATI GPU 0: AMD Radeon HD 7790/R7 260X (Bonaire) (driver version 1124.2 (VM), device version OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1124.2), 1024MB, 966MB available, 2408 GFLOPS peak)
2014-05-11 오후 1:53:59 | | OpenCL CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU 530 @ 2.93GHz (OpenCL driver vendor: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., driver version 1124.2 (sse2), device version OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1124.2))
BOINC got PPS Sieve tasks normally.
And with Catalyst 13.12 and AMD APP SDK 2.9 installed
2014-05-11 오후 8:14:09 | | OpenCL: AMD/ATI GPU 0: Bonaire (driver version 1348.5 (VM), device version OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1348.5), 1024MB, 1024MB available, 1204 GFLOPS peak)

No CAL found, but can get tasks by using app_info.xml.
I've also tried 13.9 and 14.4, but it seems like BOINC is not seeing CAL in Catalyst versions later than 13.4.
I wonder why the GFLOPS peak is that much differrent, 2408 GFLOPS vs 1204 GFLOPS.
And my 7790 is too slow, regardless of Catalyst version.
It took more than 4,500 seconds to finish one PPS Sieve task, which is even slower than 5770 which took about 3,600 seconds per task.
Any idea? | |

I have a 7970, a Tahiti model, and am doing these units just fine:
1,860.21 804.08 3,371.00 PPS (Sieve) v1.39 (atiPPSsieve)
I am using Catalyst version 13.1. The newer R series cards have something disabled that only the APP file can allow them to crunch like the pre R series cards do.
My Event Log lines say this:
5/12/2014 8:31:50 AM | | CAL: ATI GPU 0: AMD Radeon HD 7870/7950/7970/R9 280X series (Tahiti) (CAL version 1.4.1741, 3072MB, 3032MB available, 9779 GFLOPS peak)

The reason I post this is that maybe you could try running a few of the same units I do and see if it works for you, they are short at roughly 30 minutes each. I am also running 64bit Win7. Another possible, but unlikely, problem could be that you are running Boinc version 7.2.39 on that pc, not the 7.2.42 that is the latest 'release' version.

CGN 1.1 vs CGN 1.0 cards. R7-260X = 7790, both Bonaire based, both are CGN 1.1, both have CAL deprecated in any catalyst driver later than 13.4.
R9-280X = 7970, both are Tahiti based, both are CGN 1.0, both have CAL enabled in later drivers.
Currently running 2 r9-280X's, and using 14.4 drivers. Used to run a 7790, and had to use 13.4, in order to not fiddle with app_info.xml.
Not a Primegrid problem, nor a Boinc problem. AMD has decided to deprecate CAL, and has done so for their CGN 1.1 cards, and probably also will do so for the CGN 1.0 cards later.

It's primegrid/BOINC problem, because these cards runs with primebridbut primegrid seem to detecte the card with cal, but cal is not necessary to run works, so primegrid may change the detection of graphic cards.
