Look like we are on the board for this too. I don't even know what the project is about. Anyone care to enlighten me?

The Dawgz and Murphy are contributors to this project.
Fess up guys :)

While I still argue the importance of DNETC, I'll say I find it at least one level above Collatz in terms of usefulness :-)
Right now its working on 'solving' RC5 encryption.
Its a project that works great for ATI/AMD cards and churns out many many points.

TheDawgz haven't chased sticks over there in ages, or anywhere else for that matter since early 2010.

Mark,
I just added the project for the heck of it.
I'm running one ATI w/u, one Nvdia w/u, and two CPU w/u's.
My ATI work unit has been going for over 26 minutes, with 0% done. BOINC is reporting a 49 hour period for this w/u.
My CPU w/u's are going quickly.
Are the ATI w/u's much much larger? I'm only running an embedded ATI 4200 at 500 mhz.

I'm assuming its waiting for a CPU core to be freed.
DNETC runs differently than other applications. for example where I have a dual-gpu card, it runs only 1 WU at a time, but across both GPUs. I argue its less efficient because sometimes 1 gpu sits idle while waiting for the slightly slower gpu to catch up.
Try running each individually for benchmark purposes if that is your goal. CPU/amd/nvidia.
I think the average for AMD is around 2000-2200 seconds right now for a WU. i'm getting 950-1100 since I have a dual GPU card.

After I canceled that ATI w/u, I got the blue screen of death.
Everything fine after reboot. Thank u Aggie!

Yeah sounds like there was some contention there somehow and it definitely crashed the graphics driver I'd guess. Glad its all back to normal now!
