Since I'm new to all this, what's the difference in a factor and a prime other than saying it's like the difference between an apple slice and an apple pie.

And most importantly, finding factors must not be nearly as dazzling as finding a prime since I've been able to find lots of factors which I hope will help in finding new primes.
