Lately, I seem to be getting some work units which spend HOURS computing yet always indicate 0.000% progress.
I end up aborting such tasks and have to manually suspend/re-start tasks until one downloads which will show progress indication when it starts.
However, I can only 'baby sit' the BOINC manager if I happen to be at home: Today, I came home from work to discover that 9 hours of CPU time was wasted on one of these (buggy?) work units.
Maybe I should mention that the issue is occuring on my new PC which runs under Windows 7 Professional (with UAC disabled) on a PC with Intel Core2 Quad CPU (2.50GHz) & 64-bit.
I have not seen this occur on my old PC which runs under WinXP (32-bit).
Is this a known issue in general or are there some tasks which will not work under Vista/Windows 7 in particular?
