When you submit a prime you have to read this.
Prime Reporting Instructions
Most importent is nr1 & nr2 here ( the red arows)
At nr 1 you just mark Jean Penne's LLR
At nr 2 you write PG,Srsieve
Exactly like that If you don't do that PrimeGrid and Srsieve will not get credit for the prime.

I would like submit a request for all PrimeGrid users. If you have the time, please review these Prime Reporting Instructions prior to finding your first Proth prime. :) Hopefully this will bring more familiarity to the process and if you have any questions, please post them here in this thread so that we can improve the process.
It is very important that you understand them or that you ask for help if you do not understand them. We are not able to correct invalid submissions. This is a manual process that must be completed by the keeper of the Prime Pages...and we wish to keep this burden to a minimum. :)
Automatic prime reporting for Proth Primes currently is not available. If you wish for us to report the prime for you, please just respond to the email that is sent to you letting us know that is your wish and include your First and Last names. We'll use your PG username as the username for the Prime Pages.
A sample of the Prime Finder email is below:
Dear Primefinder,
Congratulations! Our records indicate that a computer registered by you has
found a unique prime number. This computer is running BOINC, is attached to
the PrimeGrid project, and is assigned to the Proth Prime Search. What makes
this prime unique is that it's large enough to enter the Top 5000 List in Chris Caldwell's
The Largest Known Primes Database.
Since you are the finder, we ask you to report this number to The Prime Pages.
Please follow the directions provided in this link:
http://www.primegrid.com/wiki/doku.php?id=how_to_report_a_prime
Please report the following prime number(s) from the Proth Prime Search:
3*2^2291610+1
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me and we will surely resolve any
problem. If you do not wish to publish your prime, let me know and we will register the prime
anonymously.
Once again, congratulations on your find and welcome to the Top 5000 List!
Thank you for participating in PrimeGrid.
PrimeGrid
NOTE: You will have 14 days to respond. Afterwards we will register the prime
anonymously.

A prime from the Proth Prime Search also has the added bonus of possibly being a factor of “classical†Fermat numbers or Generalized Fermat numbers. As this requires OpenPFGW (formerly PrimeFormGW) (a primality-testing program), once PrimeGrid finds a prime, it is then manually tested outside of BOINC for divisibility.
Therefore, we would like to credit the use of this program. Because there currently is no crediting at the Prime Pages for programs used to find Fermat and Generalized Fermat divisors, we will use the Proof-Code descriptive data section.
Prime Finders of Proth Primes, please do not skip this section. It is important that proper credit be given to OpenPFGW in the descriptive data section. If you forgot to do this, it's easy to go back and edit.
On your Proof-Code page, just select the option to “Add descriptive data explaining this prover-codeâ€. You can find out more information here on what to add to the descriptive data section: Crediting OpenPFGW

A small update was made to the descriptive data text. For those who already have their proof codes, if you have the time, please update. However, this is not critical so it's OK if you don't. :) The updated text is:
"Fermat Number divisibility was checked using..."
and
"Also, for more information about Fermat and Generalized Fermat Number divisors, please..."

Mike-- if you want to check the unsearched ranges of PPS LLR follow the link
PPS LLR Ranges Searched[/b]
Generally the lower values of K have been searched to n < (800k or 1M) but there are a lot of gaps eg- K=97 -- 560K < n < 700K is unsearched. and there are others.
Generally K above 245 is unsearched for n greater than 560K (with some exceptions)
@ roadrunner -- good to hear you have broken your run of bad luck.

Well it is not me DoES!
At one stage, in early March 09, I had 3 or maybe 4 new primes in a week. I am now in roadrunner Feb 09 mode and have done about 30k WU without a prime.
Only goes to show that randomness is often more random than you think.

G'day me old china plate--- Ya know I still haven't quite forgiven your ancestors for strapping leg irons & chains on my ancestors and sending them to Oz---- Land rights are a big issue here at the moment--- How do you reckon I'd go suing the British government and demanding I be repatriatreated to Ireland--- bugger it ---I think I'll stay here with me gekko's---
Yeah I know its not you-- I've already checked--- Been a hell of a drought-- last thing I submitted was a 19 day left over--- now it seems I got 2 more going the same way-- I would bestow upon roadrunner an old Aussie/Afgan blessing--- May your camels remain ever fertile & your beard remain always free of lice---

29th from yesterday and even made it to the list.
My Opteron is sold, what to go for next? Xeon E5520, Xeon W3520, Xeon E5420 or Xeon E3360?
Seems like the Nehalem EP (5520/3520) isn't that much faster than the old Core 2 Quad.
Hm... i have to figure this out very careful.

Hi roadrunner -- I have the same -- looks like I'm double checker on an unreported prime for a week now-- might have to wait the 19 days like I did some weeks ago --

Well I just got the email --- or rather the email telling me to go and verify I have turned off auto reporting (I prefer to report them myself --more fun) then they would send the real email---
I think this is what caused the delay for me-- a few weeks ago I had the same thing -- so I switched off auto report on locations but missed 1 (school) no hosts there but it confused the issue apparently---

Hi Roadrunner-- You went within 23 credit points of overtaking me in the prime stats pages --- then you went and entered the sieve challange --- I was going to enter this challenge-- but I couldn't force myself out of bed at 3.30AM(I'm UTC +10) so I just kept going at PPS LLR--you have a better RAC than me so I'll keep an eye on where you are at---- good luck & good crunching--- I'm upgrading one of the P3's -- taking out the MB CPU RAM & PS --- going to upgrade it into an i7----

Well I just got the email - Yep, me too, I only have 9 primes under PPS, but I'm the initial finder of all of them!
It must have been that all of the work in preparation for the challenge delayed the GFN tests.
Congtatulations chaps,
Pete. |

Yeah -- the drought has broken for me as well (one turned up this morning)-- I checked the stats -- 11 days without a prime-- longest period since I started PPS in Dec 08 --- bit strange - I had 10 cores back then now have 22 -- statistically the more cores I add the longer I have to wait for a prime ??? ;]
If I add this i7 I'll probably never see another prime for 6 months ;) Hah!

G'Day Tim
I happened to be browsing through my tasks today and found you had beaten one of the P4's by a few minutes --- have you no shame??? -- I suspect you have lowered your work cache to 0.001 or even (shock-horror) 0.0005 on your quad --- Now I have to warn you (& roadrunner) that myself & 920 Gekko's have all agreed that this is simply 'not on' and we (my subjects & I) are not going to stand for this sort of behaviour--- (not sure what we are gunna do about it just yet but we will think of something)
Hope your chooks turn into emu's an kick your dunny down (that will confuse everone)

Did you know that dunny is also the name of an unbelievably ugly series of plastics "toys" or "sculptures" or "collector's items", whichever fits worst?
Look here
Now I know, it's supposed to be an "action figure".

Mornin' DoES. I didn't like to reply before because my prime count had gone up and didn't now if it was one we were both working on. Turned out it wasn't you but a bloke from one of the other colonies.
I now have a zero cache and it seems to work well. I imagine the rats will put up a sterling defence to any lizardy attack; planning on getting another pair.
Also likely to be around the house a fair bit for the next few weeks so I might be able to get them working PG on Erin's* computers while she is fact not in.
Cheers!

Yeah well I think there might be some copyright infringements involved here from what Peter has shown me--- A dunny to any country boy in Oz is the little building out the back (usually built over a dirty great hole) where you went to contemplate the meaning of life (you know what I mean)-- Only action I ever saw around the dunny was years ago when I was a kid on the farm --- Mum was heading off for her morning constitutional when a bloody great Tipan snake (one of the worlds deadly) decided to take up residence in the dunny---Mum being a good old country girl grabbed the 12 guage and pumped about 10 shells into the dunny -- got the snake but the dunny collapsed as well -- this is a true story-- Dad came home that afternoon and asked what the hell happened -- Mum told him about the snake -- he just asked "did you get him?" nothing more said--

In the german version of wikipedia, the article (the one about the "action toy") got deleted several times because of being irrelevant. *lol*
Let's throw the dunnies into the dunny. It's the only thing that comes to mind when I look at their pictures. Well, thermal energy recovery might also be an option provided you have good filters...
